BORN
PERFECT

LET'S KICK FGM OUT

The idea is simple.

We are creating a multi media campaign featuring International Footballing Legends and ‘influencers’ of African heritage, advocating an end to FGM, with specific reference to their daughters.

Their personal video message will be amplified on social media – using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

This is a football themed End FGM campaign supported by UNFPA. The goal is to reach the vital parts of the demographic other FGM campaigns cannot always reach – young African men.

This is the simple message that we will relentlessly broadcast

“My Daughter is Born Perfect – Say No to FGM”

This campaign will have scored with young men – ‘if’ it leads them to;

    • Firstly recognise that the practice of FGM takes place
    • then engaging with the issues (the medical risks, the lack of religious basis and the moral wrong)
    • … and then having a dialogue within their family (where most decisions to “change minds on FGM” take place, according to our research) and their wider communities.

The end goal is winning over more minds to the need to – Kick FGM Out!

We are grateful to our lead sponsor – UNFPA. Additionally, The Wallace Global Fund has supported this campaign.
