OUR IMPACT STUDIES
WE KNOW WHAT WORKS
GMC partners with independent impact measurement experts at Vivid Research and DataMill to carry out robust baseline and endline studies, collecting qualitative and quantitative data to measure changes in attitudes towards FGM. Pre- and post-campaign surveys are conducted by trusted and experienced local partners within practising communities, assessing the impact of the caravans and media on awareness and attitude change.
→COMING SOON:
The FGM Whistleblowers Map, which will help measure behaviour change by analysing trends in police reports and hospital admissions of FGM cases.
To date, GMC has carried out 12 impact measurement studies assessing the impact of the Born Perfect Campaign across East and West Africa. On average, 79% of people who see the caravans say it changed their mind about FGM, studies in West Africa show.
Now, three new robust impact studies are beginning in Somalia and the Somali regions of Kenya ahead of a Born Perfect Caravan project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
