The project involved Me (Chief of Moran), an uncut girl and a survivor of FGM. I being the chief of Moran, stand firmly to protect the rights of girls and women in my community.
Our media project funded by Global Media Campaign (GMC) was directed at engaging the Kalenjin communities living in Trans-Nzoia, Bungoma, West Pokot, and Uasin Gishu counties and also Eastern parts of Uganda bordering Kenya. These communities are Sabaots, Pokots, Nandies, and Sebei’s of Uganda.
Through our project, we decided to celebrate and support our school-going girls as we sensitize and advocate for their rights.
Like any other year, during the school term breaks many girls are at risk of going through the cut, especially in Jarirot Village. We have highlighted the plight of children, taking count of the progress made in enabling the various children's rights.
The media campaigns in the Somali Region of Ethiopia supported by Irish Aid saw Shucayb hosting a panel discussion and meeting with community members to raise the voice on ending FGM in Ethiopia.
Shucayb Obsiye is a media campaigner and focal person of the Global Media Campaign in Somali Region Ethiopia. Obsiye is based in Jigjiga and works Horn Cable TV has organized a half-day Consultative meeting for the regional Bureaus to finalize the draft FGM Fatwa to end FGM in Somali Region.

Nim’an Ahmed, works for MMTV Television. MMTV is a new Television with high-quality HD TV which is very common in admirable social and political debates. Mass media awareness, Somali dramas, and family films are specifically very interested by Somali Communities.
Barre Ali is a journalist working for SAAB TV in the Somali region. SAAB TV is watched in East African countries like Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti as well as some other abroad countries in Europe, the USA, and Australia. SAAB TV has two million viewers.
