The media campaign was a radio program aired live at two radio stations in Akure, Ondo State, to amplify our voices against FGM.
Our projects title "Save our young girls and women from pain" was aimed at sensitizing the community, especially in West Pokot County on the effects of FGM and other gender-based violence.
To mark the 16 Days of Activism, I organized two radio talk shows and had radio jingles running for two weeks on BK Radio.
My project was on GBV. I spoke to the family of a young girl (12 years old) who has been sexually abused by her uncle since she was 9 years and infected with HIV/AIDS. I spoke to the victim, her mother, and GBV advocates in the county.

Umoja development organization [UD] is a community-based organization [CBO] that was formed in the year 2009 to promote children, women, and people with disabilities [PWDs] affairs and we operate in West Pokot County and some of our advocacy go across the Ugandan border among Pokot IN Amudat district Tepeth in Moroto district and Kadama in Nakapirirpirit in Eastern Uganda and those 3 community since they practice cross-border FGM.

We had one live Radio talkback show, the show was carried out at Tana Broadcasting Service (TBS), which is a 24 hour FM radio station located in Hola town of Tana River county. The show was hosted by Mrs. Salome Wanjala, an experienced radio presenter who used to host our various regular live Radio shows. We continued to use this FM radio station due to its vast coverage and reach.
