The Conduit Club Anti-FGM Evening 2022

This special evening, held on Thursday 3rd February, marked a significant milestone in the Global Media Campaign’s efforts to end FGM. The GMC team - including Director Maggie O Kane and six leading campaigners from Sierra Leone, Kenya, Nigeria, and Somalia - joined this conversation which was presented to a group of keen listeners live from the Conduit Club in Covent Garden. Other key members of the panel also included the BBC's renowned international editor, Lyse Doucet and the chair of the Global Media Campaign, the human rights lawyer, Dexter Dias.

Post covid-19 FGM Easter Cutting poses a much Larger Threat than years before

There is an increasing concern for post-COVID-19 cutting for the coming Easter holidays. Since this is going to be the longest public holiday many countries have had since the pandemic there is increasing concern for Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Mali in particular.

FGM Survivors Talk about their Painful experience on Radio, Team Bombali, Sierra Leone

The Global Media Campaign (GMC) funded Team Bombali for a media campaign for the day of the girl. The funds were spent on a Radio sensitization program in Makeni city Bombali District. The funds were also spent on transportation, feeding, lodging, and guests which we host in our radio discussions.
