We are at the Tipping Point as Religious Leaders Change their Attitude towards FGM, Somalia Region, Ethiopia

In the past 18 months, an intensive media campaign led by campaigners and journalists; supported by GMC in partnership with UNFPA, Irish Aid, and Ifrah foundation is at a tipping point of the attitudinal shift of religious leaders as well as media whereby ending all forms of FGM is now being prioritised within the religious community, and similarly within government and the media agendas in the highest prevalent region of Ethiopia where 98.5% of girls are mutilated.

Jingles on the drive home to End FGM and create Awareness, Ondo State, Nigeria

The activities for the day of the African Child started with the production of radio adverts and audiovisuals scheduled as jingles on Adaba 88.9FM during the morning belt peak periods. Adaba FM is a radio station situated in Akure, Ondo State and it conveniently covers six neighboring states of Ekiti, Edo, Delta, Osun, Kogi, and parts of Kwara State.

TV show Supporting Zero Tolerance to End FGM, Somalia

In this day and age of the 21st century, it is recognized that to have a voice is empowerment. Women and girls either shy away or lack the platform to present their grievances directly to decision-makers, the proposed media campaign programme will publicize girls’ voices and rights in a culturally appropriate manner to provoke discourses on inclusive policy reform and equitable treatment.
