2022 Nigeria Overview – #FrontlineEndingFGM

Nigeria has had a powerful year kicking 2022 off with the Born Perfect Campaign, other milestones include engaging a community media movement in Ondo state, and following the work of campaigners such as Lois Aderomose a woman on a mission.

This year in Nigeria:

  • 49 #FrontineEndingFGM locally led Campaigns 
  • Reaching 110,000,000 on radio, TV, and social media

Some Highlights from 2022:

Campaigner, Lola Ibrahim Mnia founder of WAVE: Women Against Violence and Exploitation joins the Stop The Cut FGM Awareness Walk to end FGM and all forms of Gender Based Violence, December 2nd, 2022 – Abuja, Nigeria.

End FGM Champion Lois Aderomose releases a children’s audio book on staying safe and saying no to FGM titled: ‘Tolani says NO”

Ruth Harley is working with GMC as a Website News Editor, compiling stories written by End FGM campaigners working with the Global Media Campaign to End FGM across Africa. Alongside this work, she is running The Women’s Vinyl Project which empowers women and girls through singing and music and is helping to end FGM.
